(1942-2002) Modern Holdings invests its capital in the equity of privately held companies. These investments are in various forms including buyouts, leveraged buy-outs, public to private transactions as well as taking majority and significant minority ownership positions. Investment candidates are typically businesses which we feel we can add significant value to in the near term. Our geographical focus is in the United States and Scandinavia. We take a broad approach to industry focus, preferring to invest in companies with great potential which are in high growth markets, no matter what the industry.

Our unique culture is based upon the entrepreneurial spirit of our founder, Swedish industrialist Jan Hugo Stenbeck. He taught us to challenge the status quo, to think big and to prefer action to inaction.
